Default groups from LDAP is used to have users provisioned by LDAP automatically receive group memberships on login. The default behavior is adding the group memberships on the user’s first login, but it can be changed to add the group memberships on each login. This feature is commonly used to assign the license group to users when they start using the Atlassian product.
