The application dashboard

The application dashboard

The objective of the dashboard is to give you instant insight into you user base’s activity patterns.

The dashboard shows how many Jira and Jira Service Management licenses your company currently holds and provides an overview of upcoming cleanup schedules.

The horizontal bar at the top of the dashboard gives a visual overview of the activity levels for the company’s users. The users are divided into the following categories:

  • Protected users (🔵 blue): This category contains users that are members of at least one protected group. The default protected groups are org-admin and site-admin.

  • Active users (🟢 green): This category contains users that have been active the last 15 days by default.

  • Low usage users (🟡 yellow): This category contains users that have been inactive for 15 to 30 days by default.

  • Inactive users (🔴 red): This category contains users that have been inactive for more than 30 days by default.

Because all companies are different the activity limits for each category are configurable in order to make the graph relevant to your organisation.

Customize the dashboard to your company

Customize protected users

The protected users 🔵 are the users in any of the groups marked as protected in the Settings page. By default these are org-admins and site-admins.

Customize activity limits

The activity limits that determines if a user is classified as “green”, “red” or “yellow” on the dashboard are defined in Settings → Activity Thresholds. If you don’t define company-specific values the graph is created using default values.

The default values are:

  • Active user (“green”): last activity registered within the past 15 days

  • Low usage user (“yellow”): last activity registered between 15 and 30 days ago

  • Inactive user (“red”): last activity registered more than 30 days ago

Upon installation, the app will synchronize users from the Atlassian Cloud host product. The dashboard will be populated as soon as the first synchronization is done.
