Informing external users about traditional login being prevented
This feature was added in Kantega SSO version 6.28.0.
This feature is only available on Jira with Jira Service Management installed.
Kantega SSO offers the option to prevent users from logging in with username and password to force users to use a more secure way of authentication. This can lead to a bad user experience for external users since Jira will just provide the default error message, e.g. “Sorry, your username and password are incorrect - please try again.”.
To fix this problem, Kantega SSO has the option of toggling an information box for giving instructions to external users on the JSM login screen. To enable this, go to Prevent traditional login (Kantega SSO → Common → Prevent traditional login) and select the “Enable a customizable information box on JSM login page”. This option is only selectable when “Prevent traditional login for non-licensed users” is enabled and Jira Service Management is installed. The screenshot below shows the order of buttons you need to press in order to toggle the feature.
After enabling the information box, you can visit “Customizable texts” (Kantega SSO → Common → Customizable texts) to configure the message you wish to display to external users.
The information box is shown below:
